Fast Fire Kiln Building Course
Join us for a 4-day, hands-on workshop where we’ll build and fire a small, fastfire wood kiln from the ground up using mostly reclaimed materials. This is a beginner-friendly course, ideal for potters, artists, or anyone curious about clay, fire, and self-built kilns.
Together, we’ll build wood kilns and fire them to cone 12 (~1300°C) using scrap wood, and unpack the results on the final day.
You’ll leave with the knowledge and skills to build your own kiln, a better understanding of atmospheric firing, and a fired selection of your own pots.
What you’ll learn
→ Hands on build of working fastfire wood kiln from scratch
→ Fire to cone 12 (~1300°C) using scrap wood
→ Load and fire your own bisque-fired pots
→ Learn about firing schedules and temperature tracking
→ Review results and reflect as a group
